The Carré de l'Est is a raw cow's milk cheese produced in France in Lorraine, it is part of the family of bloomy rind cheeses.
Name: It takes its name from its square shape.
Taste: The Carré de l'Est has a creamy texture and a not very pronounced and very sweet taste, delicate straw aromas.
Appearance: This cheese comes in a square shape with a white, fluffy rind.
Refining: 2-5 weeks in humid cellars. It is a semi-washed rind (a bit like the pont l'évêque).
Tasting: This cheese can be eaten on a cheese platter at the end of a meal or cut into pieces in your salads, quiches and gratins.
